I can't believe it's been 3 years since I stood around a braai and a joke/dare resulted in me braaing every day for a year. I could get all soppy and tell you about how awesome the last 3 years have been and all the wonderful people I've met etc. Instead, I'm going to tell you what you and I will be doing to celebrate this milestone.
On the 27th April @ 12h00, you need to get down to Arcade Empire for an epic Party. The kind folk over at Ignite will make sure we've got more than enough hot coals, and you are welcome to either bring your own meat or pre-book a braai pack. Arcade Empire will be selling some Pap & Vleis and salads if you need something on the side as well. There's also a very strong rumour doing the rounds that I'm going to have some taste-testers of my new BraaiBoy Boerewors (which is going to be available in your local butchery soon) - so you might get a chance to taste it here before everyone else.
What's this about drinking games?
| Drinking Games |
Most parties I end up at end up involve some sort of drinking game at some point, and in keeping with that tradition, we've invited the guys from JPB Media to come film us during these drinking games. Also, if you've got a party trick of your own, come show us and we'll share it with everyone on YouTube. The shots for these games are sponsored by Lovoka, and unless you've been living in a cave, you'll know how lekker Lovoka Caramel is. What you might not know is how lekker their chocolate vodka also tastes - so come try it out on the day.

| Beer Pong Tournament |
Bring a buddy and your A-Game and you could be one of 16 teams competiting for top honours. Mamba Spirit Coolers are sponsoring the shots in this tournament and teams will be playing with the Green, Red and Black Mamba spirit coolers. In addition to a case of Green Mamba, the winning team is walking away with an awesome braai from FatBoy Fires valued at R4, 000.

For those that made it last year, you'll remember I shared my Birthday with WonderBra's National Cleavage Day (Boobs, Beer & BraaiBoy). This year National Cleavage Day happened in March already... but that doesn't mean we're not still going to have a huge party. After all the braaing is done, you should stay on and rock out with UK Band, Scoundrels, being supported by local legends like The December Streets & City of Heroes. There's no cover charge to join us for the braai and drinking games, but 50 bucks will get you in to watch the bands afterwards.
Got any questions? Please get in touch, or give me a shout on twitter or facebook... otherwise I'll see you at the party!

Yip, it's that time of the year again - Movember. Movember??? The month previously know as November sees guys all over the world grow their moustaches in support of CANSA, by raising funds and awareness of men's health issues (and specifically cancers that affect men, such as prostate cancer).
Those of you that were following my blog or Facebook around this time last year will remember my transition from BraaiBoy to "dodgy-looking traffic officer"-boy.

On Sunday I popped in to the Pretoria Spring Show 2011 for a little bit of fun. We pitted Deli Spices' Vuyo's Wors against their new FLAVA23 which has been created specifically to support the Rugby World Cup.

The day turned out to be a lot of fun, with the surprising result being that Vuyo's Wors pipped FLAVA23 to the post by a handful of votes. I say surprising because Vuyo's wors is not a 'true boerewors'. It contains a small amount soya in the recipe, which as any boerewors connoiseur will let you know prevents its makers from labelling it a "boerewors".

A big Thank You to Deli Spices for sponsoring all the wors on the day as well as the prizes.
