Easily the best part of being BraaiBoy is that I get to meet a lot of new people. Sometimes weird, sometimes crazy, but always fun. A couple of months ago I started chatting to David McCullagh on Facebook and this oke is almost as fanatical about his braaing as I am - so naturally we got on well.
I've met up with large number of braai fans off FaceBook and Twitter already, and normally it's a small "kuier" with about 10 or so people. So, when David invited me to come braai at his favourite pub, Biggles at the Transvaal Aviation Club (TAC), I thought it was going to be a similar thing. Man... did I have it wrong. It seems David had other plans: He'd arranged with Biggles and SAB to be running Castle promotions, printed T-shirts... the works.

The day looked like it might be threatened by rain, but fortunately there was to be none of that and everyone had a great time.

We lit several fires all around the venue and while some people opted to kuier around their own fire others wanted me to show them what I'm made of.

A special shout-out to Zippy Braai as well for sponsoring the charcoal for the day.
